Für Regisseurin Barbora Horáková Joly ist das Faszinierende an der Geschichte von Violetta Valéry die Frage nach dem Leben im Bewusstsein des Todes: Was würden wir tun, wenn uns wirklich bewusst wäre, dass unsere Zeit begrenzt ist? Violetta erfährt in ihren letzten Lebenswochen eine echte Liebe, etwas, von dem sie nie dachte, dass es ihr vergönnt sein würde. Das enorme Gefühlschaos, das folgt, ihr Kampf zwischen Liebe und Norm machen sie zu einer so spannenden und anspruchsvollen Figur.
